Vacancy Description:

Our client is part of a large environemntal Consultacy based in South. They are seeking a Water Safety/Legionela Consultant. They work with large blue chip clients,and have large infrastuture of consultants working across the UK. The role would be a mix of office/site base covering work along the M4 corridor, West Midlands area.
The role will involve:

Assist in the development, support and motivation of a team of operational staff.

To assist in the delivery of budgeted profits to ensure the completion of chargeable and/or project work to a satisfactory standard and in a timely manner.

To be alert to health and safety hazards at work and to take all necessary steps to control risks to the postholder and to others.

Providing the highest level of service and responsiveness to our clients

The production of work to a high standard of quality which reflects sound professional, technical and administrative judgment and skill in accordance with the training and experience of the postholder.

The effective, efficient and economic uses of skills, knowledge and time in performing work tasks

To keep up to date with legal and technical developments in the general areas of water safety and others falling within the post holder's scope of professional expertise, knowledge and responsibilities.


Principal Responsibilities: To lead by example ensuring that work is consistent and of a high standard.

To act as a source of technical information, providing advice on general professional issues and assigned specialist subjects.

To perform their work:

" In accordance with their job description and with the terms and conditions of their employment;

" Understanding of the example that they are setting to other team members

To identify opportunities for improvement within business activities, especially operational issues.

To identify new business opportunities.

Undertake water safety consultancy works:

" Site surveys of small, medium and large premises for the purpose of legionella risk assessment, risk of scalding and other water safety concerns.
" Report writing with interpretation
" Water Systems Schematic Drawings
" Production & installation of H2Ocheck Water Safety Management Systems
" Population of database reporting systems
" Audits / Management Reviews & Retained Services
" Delivery of training courses

Undertake Project Management responsibilities:
" Attendance at client meetings, recording accurate notes with the completion of concise communication records.
" Project planning
" Ensuring progress in accordance with project plan
" Management reporting.
" Assist in maintaining established business relationships, through the effective management of client portfolios
" Development of business opportunities with established clients
" Act as a source of technical and management expertise supporting the Sales Team at meetings with prospective and existing clients
" Act as a source of technical and management expertise for the client
" Introduce other Services to clients;
" Exchange information with other technical teams within the company

To attend and participate in Company meetings as required.


Key Skills:

Previous experience and technical knowledge in the field of Water Safety Consultancy

Formal qualification:

" BSc Degree in a relevant subject, for example life science, chemistry or environmental field
" Other approved specialist qualification

Professional association/affiliation with technical bodies including one or more of the following:

" Member of IOSH
" Member of The Water Management Society
" Institute of Hospital Engineers and Estates Managers (IHEEM)

Computer and word processing skills, especially Word for Windows and Lotus
Notes.




In addition:

" Good communication skills, written and verbal.
" Person skills.
" Training and presentation skills.
" Ability to work on own initiative.
" Capacity for hard, thorough work.
" Enthusiasm
