Vacancy Description:

Due to continued growth a diversified chemical company has a requirement for a Water Treatment Equipment Technical Specialist to join their team/offices in East Midlands and who will be responsible to UK Engineering Manager & Technical Manager.

The Equipment Technical Specialist will have a higher national certificate or equivalent engineering qualification, and will be responsible for supporting the company's water treatment equipment range.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The Equipment Technical Specialist should support the UK Equipment Manager in order that they can meet their agreed targets.

You will be based in their premises covering the engineering workshop where practical engineering skills will be required in both mechanical & electrical engineering.

You will cover all telephone customer enquires and technical equipment phone calls from our UK sales staff.

You will be required to be familiar and operate any business related computer system, for the supply chain procurement and despatching of water treatment equipment.

To communicate well and work closely with the technical group and other members of the equipment group to ensure that the maximum possible value is achieved.

To work closely with his immediate management and the Regional Sales Managers and to keep them informed of equipment group activities.

You will advise the sales representative on appropriate dosing and control schemes

You will be capable of producing basic Autocad drawings of the proposed equipment schemes.

Self Management

You should ensure that any work undertaken is carried out in a professional and efficient manner to the complete satisfaction of the equipment manager.

You should ensure that all times he works in a safe manor.

You should liaise closely with the Technical Sales Representative to ensure that the services the equipment group provides are satisfactory.

You should ensure that company's safety procedures are strictly adhered to at all times.

You should conduct yourself in a highly professional manner at all times when working on company's premises and pay due regard to all safe working practices and any local restrictions which may be enforced.

Sales Support Activities

You will assist the sales representative in preparation of proposals and presentations when required.

You will advise the sales representative on appropriate dosing and control schemes.

You will assist the maintenance & operation of any computer based ordering, purchasing & delivery software used by company's customer service when working in the engineering workshop.

You should regularly undertake further training when required for your role.

General

You should ensure that the company training and reference manuals are maintained in good condition and kept up to date with all new inclusions.

You should pay due attention to their dress and personnel appearance at all times.

Your written test work should be submitted to the office in a clean neat timely manner.

You should attend and contribute actively to all company meetings and seminar in a keen, enthusiastic manner.

Your attitude and behaviour with customers, potential and other members of the company organisation should be exemplary at all times.

Quality Related Responsibilities

As an Equipment Technical Specialist you will ensure that you perform your quality related tasks in accordance with the appropriate procedures detailed in the ISO 9001 procedure manual.

Standards of Performance

Standards of performance will be related to the performance already agreed on a year to year basis. The currently applied performance appraisal system is geared to give readily quantifiable objectives and these will be the basis of judgement of performance.
