Vacancy Description:
Due to the business moving forward, a health, safety and environmental/asbestos consultancy, are looking for a Fire Risk Consultant/Sales to develop their business and gain new customers to grow their health, safety and fire services. This role is based in the North West area.
The role entails:
Development of NEW customers by effective lead development. Using the following tools, but not limited to;
" Cross sell to existing and dormant customers
" Account management (when won business)
" Hot leads (using market intelligence gathered out in the field)
" Active prospecting / various sales leads tool
" Work with company's internal sales consultant
" Word of mouth
" Planned and delivered marketing campaigns
Pro-actively development is required for existing company customers by:
" Raising company's profile by daily planned visits
" Business development and prospecting for new customers
" Selling the whole range of company's services focused on our business plan for growth (cross selling and handing over to colleagues relevant leads)
" Primarily focused on sales of health, safety and fire services
Own visit generation, with internal sales support of (30%) - making a minimum no of 8 - 10 appointments per week.
Follow up all own opportunities after visits. Administration support for quote preparation and after sales calls. Marketing/prospecting team to send out literature / mailshots /e-shots etc, however this is a team effort and assistance to follow up will be required. You will be responsible for driving the marketing effort and ensuring you keep developing new customers / opportunities to quote.
Prepare accurate quotations after quote visits and tender preparation as required.
Proactively develop own 'pipeline' ensuring that this allows your conversion of 'won' business each month.
Prepare weekly statistics on progress against target and supply to the Director of Operations.
Consistent / open / honest relationship with sales team - provision of market data / sharing of opportunities.
Work on development of target customers ie.
All SME's various industries
Multi national organisations for due diligence (The company have a particular specialism within this area)
Health and safety consultants where we will complement the core business, insurance companies
Customers with multiple sites
Social Housing Customers, NHS and Education (where company currently have a specialism)
Key skills would need to be:
A self -starter, the ability to organise own workload, plan ahead and achieve goals set by the business
Proven track record in new business sales
Demonstration of a similar sales or account management role within a similar technical role ie health and safety / fire extinguisher company, environmental consultancy, chemical industry, IT, medical sales, manufacturing industry, risk based service
Field sales / office sales experience essential
Proven track record where use of strong organisation skills were needed essential
High level of customer service / building relationships
A relevant technical or commercial background ie;
Directly relevant - Sales in a health and safety environment, fire consultant or extinguisher supply or a technical subject, occupational hygiene, risk assessments or other technical area - chemical, IT, medical, risk based services
Technical sales in other disciplines will be considered
Organisational role - conference organiser / event management / account management etc
Desirable - other relevant background;
Health and safety industry - all levels
First aid / fire safety
General advisory industry ie - Local authority and other government advisory bodies
Construction
Facilities management
Manufacturing in a health and safety role
High spec IT
