Vacancy Description:

Working for a large Environmental/Asbestos consultancy, within the North West/Midlands area.They are looking for a Senior Project and National Projects Manager to work on a large prestigious blue chip client contract.

Primary Objective:

To be responsible for the project management of projects up to £100,000 in value


Principal Objectives:

To ensure technical compliance for all work that is carried out and to liaise closely with the UKAS Technical manager and UKAS Quality manager in accordance with the company UKAS documentation.
To provide quality services and information to clients, must have knowledge of all current Asbestos and health and safety regulations.

To comply with UKAS documentation and the Company Quality Systems manual including all procedures with support from the Group Quality Manager.

To assist the Operations Manager in identifying new staff

Report to the Operations Manager any occurrences during business activity that may require reporting to our insurers or legal advice.

Attend operational team meetings and technical meetings as and when required.

Assist with tendering as and when required.

Compile recommendations and approve reports as necessary.

Ensure that project staff are aware of the project brief, is available to review the project as required and will be available to check and approve project documentation prior to issue. Ensure that the technical requirements of the project are met in the most economical manner.

Identify inter company sales opportunities and pass leads to Sales.

To be alert to business opportunities and promote the services of the group.

Implementation and monitoring of safety procedures and statutory safety requirements on the sites to which you control.

Provide technical advice as and when required

Attend training courses as and when required

To be able to carry out writing and preparation of contract documentation, specifications, bill of quantities, forms of contract and be able to carry out evaluations of submitted tenders.

Prepare health and safety risk assessment and ensure project staff adhere to the assessment.

To carry out any other duties required as part of the overall strategy to achieve the company's objectives.

Key Skills:
Have a good understanding of the financial aspects of running projects

Positive attitude

Good communication skills at all levels, both written and oral.

Effective time management

Ability to work on own initiative

Flexibility and responsiveness to work

Normally at least 5 years experience in the field of asbestos.

BOHS P402 and P405 or Certificate of Competence in Asbestos.

Or hold the BOHS P403 and P404 or COCIA
