Vacancy Description:


(a) To manage the quality system across the organization which encapsulates; the formation and auditing of all procedures in line with the UKAS guidelines
(b)To ensure that the requirements of the ISO 17025 and ISO 17020 accreditation standards are fully met and maintained on a continuing basis.
(b) Assisting the operations manager in specific operational tasks e.g. The allocation of all new jobs using the tracker system
Communications and Working Relationships:
1.
INTERNAL

(a) Regular meetings with the Commercial Director to ensure smooth handover of projects from order to production.(b) The continued development of the Company through an enthusiastic and pro-active approach to working relationships with both Client representatives and Company colleagues.(c)The continual improvement of the Company through volunteering suggested ideas, methods and procedures to the Company Directors.

EXTERNAL

(a) To provide Environmental Essentials' Clients with an efficient and professional service with respect to the specific areas of testing and inspection services for which the Company is accredited and for which you are employed.(b)To ensure that Clients receive the required levels of service in accordance with Company policy, procedures and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities:


1) Pre-Start (a) To attend formal pre-start meetings and receive all information from the enquiry stage from the commercial director.(b) Assist with the setting up of job(job no's, entering information, risk assessments and plans).
2) Reporting to the Technical Managers on a continuous basis with regards to quality related matters.

3) Responsible for any trainees, administration or other staff associated or allocated to your particular projects.

4) Responsible for the planning and operational aspects of asbestos inspection activities. This will involve the management of enquiries, tenders and quotations, programming and monitoring work schedules and liaising with staff and Client representatives.

5) Responsible for the performance and evaluation of inspections, testing, sampling, risk assessments and other activities associated within the field of Asbestos whilst maintaining the best interests of the Client and compliance with statutory requirements.

6) The production of accurate and factual test reports, technical documents, specifications, method statements, plans etc. in hardcopy or electronic format. Including the quality assurance of all documents prepared, assigned to administrative staff and delivered to Clients.

7) To provide factual and impartial advice to existing and prospective Clients.

8) To represent the Company at meetings, seminars, presentations etc.

9) To maintain and foster existing Client relationships and to develop professional, productive and prosperous relationships with prospective and new Clients.

10) To delegate to, supervise and monitor members of the Company placed under your responsibility for particular projects or tasks.

11) To assist in the training of other staff in accordance with the Company's policy and procedures as instructed by the Directors and Quality Management team.

12) Responsibility for the adherence to the Company Quality Policy and Procedures specified within the Company Quality System Manuals.

13) Responsible for the investigation of all Non conforming Work items and the implementation of Corrective and Preventative actions, following audits

14) To approve the inclusion of all new suppliers prior to acceptance on to EE database, to monitor the performance of existing suppliers and check calibration of all equipment.

15) Responsible for keeping records of all Quality related actions, procedures and methods.

16) Responsible, in liaison with the Directors and Technical Managers, for the formulation and implementation of in-house training programmes, setting goals with respect to training and personal development of staff and assisting in identifying the training needs of staff.


17) Responsible for implementing any required changes to the Quality System with respect to changes in legislation, International Standards and UKAS publications.

18) Auditing and subsequently authorizing specific personnel to undertake testing, inspection and calibration duties, to operate equipment and to give opinions and interpretations.

19) You have the authority to undertake and delegate additional quality related responsibilities and tasks to other employees who have the required experience and expertise to do so (see Document Control & Authorisation Manual).
20) This job description may be amended in accordance with the development of the organization and will be reviewed with the post-holder on a regular basis.

EXPERIENCE: (Tested by Application / Interview)
1 A minimum of 5 years experience within the industry, the BOHS Certificate of Competence in his/her relevant field and previous experience operating a UKAS accredited quality system.
2. Experience of working at a management level.

3. Experience of working within the Asbestos and Occupational Hygiene Industry



UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE: (Tested by Application / Interview)

1. Awareness of current issues and developments in the Asbestos and Occupational Hygiene Industry.

2. Current Health and Safety legislation.
