Our client is a successful growing environmental consultancy in the UK and has a world wide presence.
They are now seeking to recruit an Asbestos Business Development Manager in the North West.
The candidate will be responsible to the Managing Director.
Overall Responsibilities
Promoting and supporting business development initiatives within the Asbestos Section. In addition, to develop cross selling within the environmental group and the Health Sciences division, with particular attention to be paid to extension of services. Assist in the development of full Compliance Services including Asbestos, Legionella, Fire Risk, Energy Assessments etc. Develop a UK wide network of Compliance offices and co-operate with colleagues in other geographical regions such as Middle East, Far East, North America and Australia.
Objectives
To pursue new markets, new clients and new services in conjunction with the other departments within the Asbestos section, the Environmental group and wider Health Sciences division to enable delivery of the strategic plan growth for the business. The development of outsourcing opportunities should be considered.
Personal attributes
The Business Development Manager is expected to be a lead commercial individual in the section with entrepreneurial flair and several years experience of commercial roles at a senior level. An understanding of the construction and/or construction products business is a distinct advantage, as networking across the client base and related technical committees will be an important role. The Business Development Manager will have skills in leadership, finance and communication.
Duties
The main duties are to:
" Work closely with the senior management team within the Asbestos and Environmental Divisioin compiling business development strategies required to achieve the key goal of growing the business in line with the Health Sciences European strategy.
" Develop and maintain a Business Development plan which provides clear reporting systems to ensure effective communication on business development activities and customer feedback to the senior management team.
" Developing and achieving realistic and challenging Key Performance Indicators for the business and instilling the required discipline to ensure these KPI's are monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.
" On going evaluation and monitoring of competitor performance and market share. This information will also be used to update and evolve the business development strategy for the Environmental Group and the Health Sciences Division.
" Determining and developing opportunities for Joint ventures, outsourcing and strategic alliances that meet the objectives of the Health Sciences strategic plan.
" Promoting and supporting cross divisional business development within the Environmental/Health Sciences division as well as co-operation with colleagues in other parts of the company and in other geographical regions such as Middle East, Far East, North America and Australia.
" Co-ordinating monthly reporting to senior management, summarizing the business development activities, in line with defined formats and deadlines.
" Undertaking specialized business development projects as defined by senior management.
