Vacancy Description:

The company is a leading asbestos consultancy, surveying and analytical testing organisation with over 30 years experience in the UK, accredited to both ISO 17020 and 17025 . The company comprises of trained Asbestos professionals providing comprehensive asbestos surveys, project management, training and bulk testing.

The company is a division of a leading publicly listed Bio-Analytical and Environmental multi-national organisation with over 3,000 staff in 20 countries

The company is now seeking a talented, "hands on" General Manager to lead the company in its next phase of growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

" Responsible for the profitable growth and leadership of the company with full P&L and budgeting responsibility.

" Develop short term and long term strategies leading to the collation and preparation of business plans and annual budgets.

" Put in place sales strategies to grow both the existing client base and acquire new business, taking the lead in tender and sales negotiations.

" Responsible for motivating and leading a team of Project Managers, Analysts and Surveyors including performance reviews and training.

" Undertake site visits with surveyors to ensure that high levels of quality controls are maintained.

" Develop a high service level and quality control culture, ensuring that ISO accreditations are maintained, client expectations are exceeded and projects are proactively managed.

" Take an active role in business process and IT development.

" Experience Required

" 3-5 years experience in asbestos management, with relevant asbestos qualifications.

" Commercial and financial skills, gained within the consultancy or surveying sector.

" Good IT/Database and business process skills.

" Proven track record in business development and tender negotiations.

" Leadership and motivational skills.

" Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

" Degree level in an appropriate subject.
